PRIVACY STATEMENT FOR THE BARBARA LEE FAMILY FOUNDATION

The Barbara Lee Family Foundation (“BLFF”) believes that information provided by Internet users must be used responsibly and appropriately. To protect users' privacy, we have implemented the following policy, which applies to www.barbaraleefoundation.org. 

Information Collection
This Web site may be used by anyone without providing any personally identifiable information.  BLFF does collect information from our users at several different points on our Web site.  We will not collect any personally identifiable information about you, such as your name, email address, or other information, unless we explicitly request the information and you choose to provide it.  BLFF is the sole owner of the information collected on www.barbaraleefoundation.org.   

Information Use  
We may use personally identifiable information we collect to provide you with copies of our publications or other information we think you might find useful based on your interest in BLFF and our Web site and to communicate with you concerning any suggestions you may have for improving this Web site.  We may also share information we collect with closely aligned organizations; however, we will not sell any information we collect to third parties.  You can always request that we not share your information with any third party at any time by “opting-out” at the point at which we collect the information or by sending us an e-mail request at info@leefamilyoffice.com.  While unlikely, we may need to disclose personally identifiable information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on us.  

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We do use cookies on our Web site.

Log Files
Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. The log files may track information including internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks.  We may us log files to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movement in the aggregate, evaluate bandwidth, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc., are not linked to personally identifiable information.

This Web site may contain links to other sites. Please be aware that BLFF is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.

Security
Because we collect only very basic contact information, we do not currently use encryption software to protect this data. We gather information by e-mail or via an unsecured page on our Web site and keep it in our offices.  User information is not stored online.

Protecting Children
BLFF is concerned about the safety and privacy of children online, and we will make all efforts to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). COPPA and its accompanying FTC regulations establish United States federal law that protects the privacy of children using the Internet. We do not and will not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under 13. This Web site is not intended to solicit information of any kind from children under 13, and we will develop our site with the capacity to block acceptance of information from children under 13 whenever age-related information is requested. It is possible that by fraud or deception by others we may receive information given to us by, or pertaining to children under 13. If we are notified of this, as soon as we verify the information, we will immediately obtain parental consent or else delete the information from our servers. If you want to notify us of our receipt of information by children under 13, please do so by emailing us at info@leefamilyoffice.com.

Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information
If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as zip code, phone, email or postal address), or if a user no longer desires us to use the information we have collected, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate users' personally identifiable information. This can be done by e-mailing us at info@leefamilyoffice.com.

Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
