Program Assistant

Emily assists in non-partisan grant-making initiatives that expand women’s participation in American politics and contemporary art.

Prior to her current position, Emily worked for Lansing City Councilwoman Tina Houghton on civic engagement in the community.  Prior to her work with Councilwoman Houghton, Emily interned for the Michigan Association of Counties, Senator Debbie Stabenow, and Senator Gary Peters working on research and legislative issues.

Emily holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Michigan State University.

Who inspires you?
My grandma and my mom!  Growing up around strong, supportive women as role models shaped my passion for public service.  They never fail to say what’s on their minds and their humor and kindness touches everyone they meet.
