Working America Education Fund

Working America, the community affiliate of the AFL-CIO, represents working people who do not have the benefit of a union job. They reach out to working-class moderates living in the suburbs and exurbs with information on the economy and opportunities to take action. During the election season, the Working America Education Fund shares the costs of door-to-door canvass programs aimed at educating the public about issues of concern to working families and recruiting members for Working America.  In 2008 they had programs in 17 states. The Barbara Lee Family Foundation supported their nonpartisan voter turnout work in New Hampshire for the 2008 elections.
